An Autumn Inspiration

By  |

When people ask me what is it about Fashion Week that consumes all my attention during the runway shows season, I tell them simply….It’s where I get inspiration! It is the perfect environment to get inspiration for the next leather jacket I will buy or for the next lipstick shade I will wear. I never follow rigorously all the trends that come out every season. Some of them are good enough to steal my attention and make me follow a certain trend, by changing the way I look or present myself to others.

Back to Black

This season is all about your darkest color ever. When I say darkest I mean deep brown, deep burgundy or better say black fits the description. During the Fashion Week in February, all you could see was dark and dramatic colors not only on the clothes, but lips where right there on the spotlight. As seen in Rodarte, Dior and Marni, attention was given only to the lips.

Clumpy Lashes

Let’s just say that even for this year, the Twiggy Lashes are back on track. Well it looks like make up artists are fond of this look and it was spotted at Carven, Dior and Nina Ricci back in February. Not sure how to get this look?

  1. Type on Google “worst mascaras ever”
  2. Buy one of them
  3. Your lashes will totally clumps.

Blue eyeshadow

Blue has always been a major color when it comes to the most applicable colors during the Fall/Winter season. As spotted at Olympia Le-Tan, Jill Stuart & Thow Brown, this season focus on creating some bold eyes by focusing only on that area and apply on the lips only a shade of baby pink or nude.

Fluorescent make up

A few years ago it was all about fluorescent clothes and I can’t remember a single person who did not own at least a fluorescent piece. I, for example had a lot of fluorescent nail polishes, which were a must during Summer. This time, forget Summer, forget clothes and get yourself some fluorescent beauty products starting from eye shadows, eyeliners, mascaras and lipsticks. You can totally give some brightness to the upcoming grey weather. Well, Winter is coming…

As spotted at: Marques’ Almeida, Jeremy Scott & MSGM

The gloss

Well ladies get your glosses back as it is time to use them again. Just when I think about it, I haven’t used a gloss since high school and apparently it is time I get a new one and use it on top of my lipstick or at the lids as seen at Christian Dior, Peter Pilotto and Max Mara.

Graphic Eyeliner

If there is one trend (except the red lipstick) that won’t vanish is the graphic eyeliner. Every year it is the same trend that won’t go away. Why wouldn’t it when you can create hundreds of designs with just one brush. Maybe you can find inspiration from the Giamba, Kenzo & Oscar de la Renta fashion show.

A touch of Silver

What I like about this trend is the fact that it is applicable in the morning and in the evening. If you want to remain within the what-so-called normal look, but with a little difference, just apply a shade of silver on the inner corner of the eyes or in the outer corner or you can use it as a shadow as seen at Stella McCartney, Courreges and Giulietta.

All that Glitter!

As spotted at Burberry, Fausto Puglisi and Giambattista Valli, this season, parties will be filled with glitter. You can apply sequins under your lashes or at the corner of your eyes without looking too exaggerated. A combination of glitter and eye shadow would make a perfect match as spotted at Burberry, Fausto Puglisi and Giambattista Valli.

The Smoky eye

This season smoky eye is about a mixture of shades as you can see from Saint Laurent, Emanuel Ungaro and Moschino Fashion Show back in February. So, do not focus only on dark colors like black, brown and grey when with a mixture of the aforementioned colors and gold you have your party look.

Bleached brows

To be honest this is certainly the only trend so far that I will never apply. Even though it looks good on the models as seen at Moncler Gamme Rouge, Saint Laurent & Dsquared2. I can’t imagine the combination of my dark hair with bleached brows, but if you are a beauty fanatic and willing to experiment with your look, you will totally nail it!
