“Palacio Real”

There are places that steal your heart. Well Madrid is one of these places! It is funny the idea that you don’t know what you are expecting when you go somewhere. As much as I searched on the internet for places to visit in Madrid, I never thought that I would really enjoy visiting this city. There is so much to do, so many places to visit, so much to eat and drink and so many places for shopping. Yet I still did not manage to visit a few things which I’ll consider visiting when I go next time…There will definitely be a second time!

Ka vende qe te rrembejne zemren. Epo Madrid eshte nje nder keto vende!

Places I visited
1. Palacio Real – The Royal Palace of Madrid which left me with no sleep for two days… The entrance costs 10 euros and I enjoyed the visit inside the palace where I got to see how the royals lived many years ago.
2. Prado Museum – It is impossible to visit that museum for half a day. There were amazing paintings from famous and talented artists, but me and my friends decided to see the works of a few artists like Goya, Velazquez, Tiziano, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Rubens etc. My favorite painting was ” Las Meninas” by Velazquez.
3. Parque de el Retiro – You can see from the pictures how beautiful the park is. Just grab something to eat and do a little picnic with your friends and enjoy the peace that surrounds the place, the flowers, the trees…
4. Templo de Debod – is an ancient Egyptian temple which was rebuilt in Madrid. Inside the temple the walls are covered in hieroglifs, each showing a story.
5. Plaza Mayor – I visited the Plaza Mayor at night where me and my friends had a wonderful evening. We sat in a restaurant at the Plaza and ate the famous Spanish dish “Paella” which was so delicious.
6. Plaza de Cibeles – I saw the place from the tv when Real Madrid celebrated Champions League victory and I wanted to see the place myself. At the Plaza you can see the famous fountain, which has become Madrid’s symbol, the Cibeles Palace, Bank of Spain, Linares Palace & Buenavista Palace. From there you can go to the Prado Museum and also see Puerta de Alcala.
7. Church – I also got to see Iglesia De Los Jeronimos, which is near Prado Museum and another one near Metropolis, but I don’t remember the name.

Vendet qe vizitova
1. Palacio Real – Pallati Mbreteror i cili me la dy dite pa gjume…Hyrja kushton 10 euro dhe e shijova me te vertete viziten brenda ne pallat ku arrita te shihja se si jetonin mbreterit vite me pare.
2. Muzeu Prado – Eshte e pamundur te vizitosh ate muze per gjysem dite.
Merrni disa panine dhe krijoni nje piknik te vogel me miqte dhe shijoni paqen qe mbizoteron ne ate vend, lulet e shumellojshme dhe pemet…
4. Templo de Debod – eshte nje tempull i lashte Egjiptian, i cili u rindertua ne Madrid. Brenda tempullit, muret jane te veshura me hieroglife, ku secila tregon nje histori.
7. Kisha – Gjithashtu pata mundesine te vizitoja Iglesia De Los Jeronimos afer Muzeut Prado si dhe nje kishe tjeter afer Metropolis, por qe emri nuk po me kujtohet.

Famous neighborhoods
1. La Latina – Spend the evenings at La Latina where you can try tapas & the famous drink Sangria.
2. Chueca – Another famous neighborhood with so many bars & restaurants. You can find there Mercado de San Anton where you can try tapas and international cuisine. If you want to drink a cocktail, Mercado de San Anton has a rooftop and you’ll have a great time.
You can also spend the evenings at Puerta Del Sol, Gran Via, Plaza Mayor where there is also Mercado de San Miguel.

Lagje te famshme
1. La Latina – Kaloji mbremjet tek La Latina ku mund te provosh tapas dhe pijen e famshme Sangria.
2. Chueca – Nje tjeter lagje e famshme me shume bare & restorante.
Mbremjet mund t’i kalosh gjithashtu tek Puerta Del Sol, Gran Via, Plaza Mayor ku ndodhet gjithashtu Mercado de San Miguel.

Shopping
Gran Via is the best place for shopping, where you can find so many stores. Trust me one day of shopping at Gran Via it is not enough. If you are looking for expensive labels, Salamanca is the right place. About sales, they start in June and finish in August during Summer and the prices are very cheap comparing it with the sales in Italy.

Gran Via eshte vendi me i mire per shopping, ku mund te gjesh shume dyqane. Me beso nje dite shopping ne Gran Via nuk eshte e mjaftueshme.
5 days were not enough for me, because there are a few places I did not manage to visit like the monastery San Lorenzo del Escorial, which is 30 minutes by train, Museo del Romanticismo and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.
I also wanted to visit the market El Rastro, which is opened on Sundays where you can find a variety of products, even a number of antique shops.

5 dite nuk ishin te mjaftueshme per mua, sepse disa vende nuk arrita t’i vizitoja si manastiri San Lorenzo del Escorial, qe eshte 30 minuta me tren, Museo del Romanticismo dhe Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.
Gjithashtu doja te vizitoja markaten El Rastro, qe eshte i hapur te dielave ku mund te gjesh nje game te gjere produktesh, si dhe dyqane me sende antike.
